Last day of school

Today was the big wrap up: satisfying yet sad. Mariana and I got to finish our magazine by 3 o'clock sharp. I am really proud of all of the things we did this month!!! It was the best decision to come to Parsons. Both Frank and Paul are incredible teachers which taught me not obly techniques but life lessons I will never forget. I hope one day I return as a transfer student!

Whitney museum

On wednesday we had a fieldtrip to the whitney museum to see Yayoi Kusama's exhibition. There were some things I loved and some I just hated. I thought putting all of the colorful paintings together made them look fantastic. Looking at them one by one was not as exciting. The wierd white things she put in sofas and clothing which I never understood what they were, was not that enjoyable. I just loved the painting called "revived soul". The sizes of the dots made the whole painting look incredible. I was amazed! After the meuseum we went to central park to draw the Alice in Wonderland state which was really fun even if it was a short time we were there. This picture is from google as we could not take pictures inside the exhibition.

Great advance!

Tuesday we spent all day working on our magazines. Mariana and I stayed at school until 7 pm and got a lot of work done. Here is our cover.

Geometric perspective

On Monday, Frank brought Rafael who is a great graphic designer to teach us about Adobe InDesign and how to start our magazine. Mariana and I got really good ideas and couldn't wait to get started.

Paul taught us how to draw geometiroc shapes with perspective. We started in the classroom with grid paped and traced it to te bristol, for homewotk we painted it in a way that te value of the colors made sense accordog with the lighting in the painting.

Homework

My homewotk for Monday came out really great! I enjoyed doing it and put a lot of effort into it, here is the result.

Skyline Fail!

In design class Frank taught us some basic things about photoshop and we practice them all in various pictures. it was really helpful and exciting, although I am now sure I can't be a graphic designer since I get frustrated if I spent too much time in the computer trying to make thinks perfect.

Paul took us around meat packing district to a place were we could ser a skyline to draw it. It was a disaster since it started pouring rain when we got there. We tried painting below a little ceilling but the air was cold and brought the water in so we had to go home. It was fun, but I couldn't get anything done

Long day

Thursday morning we went out to make Barbara's and Fernanda's photoshoot. Barbara was the model and Fernanda the photographer, Mariana and I were just helping with the lights and I also did Barbara's makeup. It was really exhausting but there was a great outcome.

The lucture on industrial design was quite interesting even though I am not really into it. There was a clear emphasis in the fact that we should fight to be the best at what we are doing every moment and acheive every goal.

In drawing class there was a male model which made me a little uncomfortable but I did a really good job catching the important thing in the drawing which was the windows besides the man and the persective of the line.
